TerraForm Designs Sustainable Community with Circular Economy Principles

Copenhagen, Denmark – TerraForm, a design and urban planning firm, has unveiled a groundbreaking project that incorporates circular economy principles into the development of a new sustainable community. The project, called "Cycle City," is a holistic approach to creating a self-sustaining and environmentally friendly urban environment.

Cycle City is designed around the concept of closed-loop systems, where resources are reused and repurposed within the community. Building materials are sourced locally and designed for disassembly, allowing them to be reused at the end of their lifespan. Waste is minimized through composting and recycling programs, and energy is generated from renewable sources, such as solar and wind.

“Our aim is to create a community that is not only sustainable but also resilient and regenerative,” stated Lars Nielsen, Founder of TerraForm. “Cycle City demonstrates how we can design cities that work in harmony with nature, minimizing waste, and maximizing resource utilization.”

The community features shared resources, such as co-working spaces, community gardens, and tool libraries, fostering a sense of collaboration and community engagement. Cycle City also emphasizes pedestrian and bicycle-friendly infrastructure, promoting active transportation and reducing reliance on private vehicles.

TerraForm hopes to demonstrate how circular economy principles can be implemented on a larger scale, inspiring other urban developments to adopt more sustainable practices. The project’s innovative approach and dedication to circularity make it a model for creating more sustainable cities of the future. It shows how the future of urban living can blend community, efficiency, and responsible resource use.
